I've noticed a problem that appears to be happening when running searches through Google, Yahoo, or Bing.

I do my search, and click on a link in the results list, and the browser hangs, after a while getting a script timeout error.

This is happening in both IE8 and Firefox.

Is this a javascript problem?

What should I do? Thanks.

well since nobody responded, I continued to look into this problem myself, and of all people my wife came up with the fix. I wanted to post what worked for us, for any of you out there who also run into this problem.

Basically, try loading IE8 without plugins, ie. disable all plugins. It should work when you try clicking on a link from Google. Now, go through the list of your plugins, re-enabling the big ones in one go, such as Flash, Quicktime, Java, etc. They should also work. Next start going one plugin at a time, re-enabling one plugin and trying again. By doing this we found out that we have an issue with McAffee's Site Advisor.
