Can't Connect To Itunes Store

I just recently upgraded to Itunes 9 in order for my new ipod to sync but ever since I went from Itunes 7 to Itunes 9, I have not been able to connect to the iTunes store. Everything else works perfectly fine but when I try to go to the iTunes store it says "iTunes could not connect to the iTunes Store. Make sure your network connection is active and try again." I have looked through other threads and most of them said to try changing the personal firewall settings. I have Norton Antivirus 2008 and used the port forwarding guide to unblock iTunes to no success. I'm not sure what else to do and I'm wondering what the problem is. Thanks in advance
