I am currently using a computer I recieved from my dad, which was infected by a virus that deleted everything. He ended up purchasing a new computer and giving me this one after a system recovery (deleting everything off the computer and giving it to me as if it was straight out of the box.) While that's fine and dandy, the 2nd day I had it, it got infected. I had figured that it was the result of a forum I went on, and had the system recovered again (nothing was installed anyway). And from that day in summer, this computer has had to go through 2 different antivirus programs (first Norton, now AVG), 2 system recoveries, countless system restores, and probably 20 annoying bubbles popping up telling me my computer is infected. Of these 20, about 3 of them started scanning my files. I promtly shut down the computer and system restored, and while the virus seemed to be gone, it would rear it's ugly head agin about 3 weeks later out of nowhere. I do not do a lot of websurfing; the sites I visit daily are Facebook, Youtube, Blogger, Thatguywiththeglasses, Wikipedia, ESPN, and CBSSports. Google is also a part of this, but for some reason, I am constatnly redirected to a different site when I click on a serach result from Google. I've also been having problems with Windows Movie Maker for the last two days. So long story short, is it possible that some form of virus is still in the system even after a system recovery? Thank you in advance.
