I have a Hercules Action Game CD-Rom and it states 'Microsoft 95 compatible'.

I just bought myself a new laptop, installed with Windows 7 and was wonering wheather I can play the game using Windows 7.

I clicked 'auto'play' but nothing popped up. The game refuses to play and it's brand new :)

Is there any other way to enable the game to play - like downloading or purchasing a software?

Help! :)

It might work, all you have to do is run the game in compatibility mode :) .
(Compatibility mode allows an older program, in this case your Hercules game, written for earlier versions of Windows to possibly run in Windows 7)

You can do this by following these steps:

1. Right click on the program's shortcut, .exe file, or installation program.

2. Click on Properties.

3. Click on the Compatibility tab.

4. To Run a Program in Compatibility Mode;

A) Check the Run this program in compatibility mode for box. (See screenshot below)

B) Click on the drop down menu arrow and select which version of Windows the program was made for. (See screenshot below)
NOTE: Always pick the latest Windows version the program was written for (in this case it would be Windows 95) to have a better chance of it running properly in Windows 7.

5. Click OK and start the game.

good luck :)

If you are able to confirm the program does work under Windows XP (which is highly probably), then depending on which version of 7 you have, you'll be able to run Windows XP mode and install the game under that. I have a really old game I used to play when I was a little boy, Vista and 7 refuse to see it but it runs fine on XP, so now that I have 7 Ultimate, I run it in XP mode for my little boys. :)
