Built in mic not working.
Hello everyone, I have a Dell Inspiron 1521 computer with Vista on it. I tried to go on Skype yesterday but for some reason, my mic wasn't working.

I went and checked the sound and made sure it wasn't on mute or anything, and it's completely fine.

I looked around on the internet and the only information I could find was that people had this problem after they reinstalled their computer. A couple months ago I reinstalled my computer, and before I did I could use the mic.

Any help?

Hi there,
Can you please try this?

1.] Check your Mic input. The jack must be Red.

Notes: if you're using a USB Mic, then you're fine.

2.] Check your Realtek HD audio settings.
Also, please click on the "Mixer" tabs and increase your Mic volume.

3.] Go to skype settings and set your Mic to use Realtek HD audio.

Could you tell me how to do that? :)
