Norton Finds Virus in 2 Programs Used in Malware and Spyware Cleaning

In an attempt to remove malware from my system using GeekstoGo instructions in Malware and Spyware Cleaning Guide, I encountered a problem when my virus protection system (Norton) did not allow me to use two of the tools necessary due to a virus detected and unsafe download.
The steps are listed below. I was able to complete Steps 1-3 no problem.
