Good morning,

High level
Cannot run disk check
Cannot create restore point
All restore points gone
AVG Components gone, cannot run scan
Downloaded new AVG 9.0 installed, missing components
Spybot will not open, cannot reinstall "permissions issue"
Cannot run MBAM or reinstall "permissions issue"
Combofix will not open (saved last night)
Combo fix link (to down load and rename combo-fix) via this website on another post will not work open "permissions"
Last system virus scan was on 12/5/2009 all was clear (avg)

I appreciate the time that you take to review for morons like me...

More info
Was going to burn a picture dvd, noticed that my J drive was missing from the options. The Trouble shooting took me to select a restore point via windows only to find there were none. Could not create a new restore point, error said to reboot and retry.

Did that, no luck. Went into my computer, system restore and turned it off and then back on. No luck.

Attempted to run a virus scan with avg 8.5 (which was always on) - the components were now missing.

Downloaded Avg 9 free, ran scan in safe mode - it found two that it indicated it healed, but I now cannot find record of it.

Attempted to download combofix - saved fine would not open.

Spybot would not open (double click, flashes for a moment then disappears). When attempting to click on the link that would reinstall the program (spybot) an error saying I do not have appropriate permissions.
