I’ve had to stay home to care for a family member and use a Dell monitor that’s like 12 years old and an ergonomic keyboard with the stuck caps lock pried up.

No surprise I get screen freezes. After using my new puter some months, I reformatted as ‘screen freezes’ had built up to a near constant annoyance. Now they are nearly hourly watching video. Gaming mode is unaffected. That last makes me think a service or program is running badly. Still, I have bad hardware.

If I am watching video, and the screen freezes, but I still have sound, would you think that is my monitor conflicting?

No, more likely a graphics card failure or issue.
