hi, any advice. My friend is a real beginner, is there anything she may have pushed or disconnected, any ideas? screen monitor is black, nothing at all coming up, yet apparently green lights say there is power to both hard drive and monitor. sorry to be so vague, can anyone give me a few simple suggestions, cant get to see the computer for a couple of weeks. thanks
she says all cables are connected!

first thing I would do is connect the monitor to second computer, just as a test

Next, any beeps at startup? Perhaps the videocardhas come partially loose in the pci/agp slot.

Laptop or desktop? Does she get a bios splash screen and then nothing, or just nothing?
