downloading from my video camera to laptop

help---i can not down load my videos or pictures from my video camera to my laptop-i do not have the disc to install whatever driver i need to get this done, my laptop is not picking up on the video camera even though its attached to my laptop, the video cam im using is a sony hdd 800x series, what do i do??

if you go to the Sony website and enter the actual camera model number (hdd 800x doesn't show up anywhere there) you can get the drivers and software directly
