Virus Infection

I have I believe, a virus that:
1 Causes my desktop icons to grey out when clicked on
2 Puts an airbrush black line through the text under the icon when clicked on
3 Shuts down the computer when running anti virus software to try to get rid of the evil beast (I think)
Please help me
