Xbox 360 wont pick up wireless windows 7 laptop

for about the past two weeks i have been unable to have my xbox 360 read my music files and my video files on my wireless laptop. and recently within the past 3 days it has been unable to detect my pc at all even though they are connected to the same wireless router. i have tried everything i can think of to get this fixed including several other message board and the xbox.com troubleshooting sites. would appreciate any input to helping me solve my problem.
