Most of the time, say 8 times out of 10, when I search for a match, my whole router/modem disconnects. Not only that, it turns itself off. I have tried this game on the other two platforms (xbox and pc) but it will only disconnect on my PS3. This is [bleep]. The modem/router won't reconnect for 5 minutes. It might happen 6 - 10 times in a row. I would like to know, what is causing this and what I can do to fix it.

Our ISP is Telstra Bigpond Australia and our router is a netgear model, CG814WG. The playstation is connected to a switch which is connected (through cables in the walls) to another switch on the other side of the house which is connected to the modem/router.

If anyone can tell me what is going wrong and what I can do to fix it it would be much appreciated. If it is get a new modem, I can deal with that.

Thanks in advance
