Welcome to Geeks To Go!
Restart your computer. Press F9 key immediately when the ASUS logo appears. This should start the recovery procedure, including the installation of all the drivers and utilities. Follow the instructions. Your computer will be restored to it's factory pre-install state.

Thank you phillipcorcoran and happyrock for your replies and advice, and I've tried both (repeatedly and in various ways) of your methods without success. Neither the Advanced Boot Options or recovery procedure have started.
And, no, I'm afraid I didn't back anything up or burn the recoveries (which is really stupid of me).

go here and get Windows Vista Recovery Disc ...pick your computers flavor 32 bit or 64 bit...download and burn it as a image...if you don't know how ask and we will instruct you...once you have booted to the recovery options ..pick startup repair

I'm sorry, but I don't understand. Do you want me to download the recovery onto my Vista (which I can't) or the computer (Windows XP) I'm using now?
I forgot to mention, but I have the recovery disks, but popping either one in hasn't done anything.
Edit: I managed to get onto my Vista in Safemode and everything seems to be working fine for now. I'll be sure to contact you guys if anything goes wrong again. Thank you!
