OK, I am posting this here hoping that somebody can verify my suspicion one way or another.
A few weeks ago I created a Yahoo e-mail account and started playing Cribbage on Yahoo Games. I quickly discovered that Yahoo's version of Cribbage is nothing like the game I grew up playing, in fact it's a piece of crap.
Well, I took the liberty to contact Yahoo via their Yahoo Games contact/customer service link and told them exactly what I thought of their Cribbage version and asked that they reply with an explanation as to why the game is so pathetic.
Well, I got zero response from them. So after two weeks of hearing nothing, I sent them another e-mail with the same complaint.
The very next day, when I log into Yahoo Games to play Cribbage, my whole computer system slows down. You have to have java so you can actually get into the lounge and select a table to play at. Previously, when I did that, my computer was very quick during game play. Now it's slow as molasses and quite often freezes up. When I hit control-alt-delete to 'end task' on Yahoo Games it shows my CPU usage fluctuating between 80-100%. So, the big question is...did my computer suddenly develop an aversion to Yahoo Games, or could they possibly have done something to my account to create this problem just to be a PITA?

Realistically Yahoo have more important things to do than screw your computer up.
What I would ask though, if you consider Yahoo Cribbage to be, in your own words, "crap", then why have you gone back to play it?

Have a few friends online that play at Yahoo Cribbage. Guess I could look for another site, but this is where they've been for awhile. Funny thing is, they gripe and moan about the same issues, but continue to play there. Maybe a different game site and then invite them to play over there.
I dunno, just thought some Yahoo puke might have thought my e-mail a little to offensive and took matters into his own hands. But you're probably right.
