I installed Win7 on my PC some 5 months (or so) ago, and it has been problem-free for the first three months, but now I start having problems with the integrated network adapter. It hasn't occurred with Windows XP back then.

Lately at every restart/startup I am notified that I am connected to "Multiple networks" One of which is my Network (A14) which has internet access and another is an Unidentified Network
whenever this happens, I have no internet connection.

At the first few occurrences (which were few and far between), I was able to resolve the situation by enabling and disabling the device via Device Manager. This was when my PC was still connected to an unsecure network with internet connection provided by my apartment complex, I first suspected someone in that network was responsible for it, now I have my own network with my own DSL connection. However the problem still occurs and is even worse, I have to uninstall-reinstall the driver for the Network adapter just to remove the Unknown Public Network. I already tried updating the drivers, but it still has the same rate of occurrence.

Welcome to Geeks To Go!

What's probably happening is that your wireless device finds an unsecured public network within range and connects to it automatically.

In your wireless network adapter software, look for an option which says "connect automatically to other available networks" and disable that option.

My PC is connected to the router by LAN cable, only my phone, laptop and PSP connects by wifi.

Additionally, my PC begins to hang-up even when Im playing WoW, I suspect its the same culprit since they stated occurring at the same time.

I might consider updating my BIOS though, I hope it could iron out that problem.

I noticed in your waiting room reply you said there is a possible chance for malware.. for that reason I suggest:

Move to the Malware Forum!

Please read the Malware and Spyware Cleaning Guide and follow the instructions thoroughly, starting at the top...

That will give you several steps that will help you clean up 70 percent of all problems by yourself. If at the end of the process you are still having difficulty--and you may not be-- then post an OTL log in the MALWARE forum.

If you are still having problems after getting a clean bill of health from a malware expert, please return to this thread.

This way we can at least rule out one more possibility.

It doesnt seem to be in line with malware sir, I recently changed my router and the ocurrence of this problem has been very low since.

It no longer occurs after cold or warm boot, but one noted occurrence when my ISP went down for a few minutes.
