Hello, having problems

I'm having problems with my computer and its pretty new. when ever i try to use itunes it takes for ever to open up, it does the same with other programs. They do not open up right away and sometimes they freeze up as well. I tried restoring it to an earlier date but it did not seem to work. I un installed itunes and installed it again also did not work fix the problem.

Are you running Vista Service Pack 2?
How much RAM is installed?
What startup programs are running with Windows? (You could also try seeing if the fault also happens in Safe Mode)
