To make a long story short, I switched ISP's. I've been using Thunderbird for e-mail, but couldn't get it to work with WOW. I'm now using Windows Live Mail. When I tried to open a .pps (PowerPoint) file from an e-mail, I got an error message saying I needed to associate the file type with a program. I've got Microsoft Office PowerPoint Viewer installed and it shows in the start menu but not in the list of programs when I click on "set your default programs". When I click on "Associate a file type with a program" and scroll down to .pps, it has PowerPoint Viewer listed next to it. I'm stumped. Any help would be appreciated.

Save the .pps to your desktop, then right click and choose "open with" and browse to your PP viewer. Tick the box that says "always use this program to open this kind of file". If the pps you were sent was created in Office 7 you may need an updated Pp viewer. If your computer doesn't prompt you to download and install it, you can get it on the MS website.
