I'm running Vista Ultimate

After typing two letters in Start Search the computer freezes up and when moving my cursor it goes under the menu. I left click a few times and I get a "Not Responding" message.

Also. I don't know if this is related but during this time I will occasionaly get a black desktop. I can return my dreamscene by going to personalize.

Ran three anti virus programs. My computer is not virus infected.

Appreciate anyone's help here-

Welcome to Geeks To Go!, ciscoinmx.

I'm going to stick my neck out here and say that DreamScene could (I repeat, could) be making your system unstable and behave unpredictably. I used to be addicted to third-party skins, transformations and desktops for Windows but they all caused issues of one kind or another, so I steer clear of them now.

There's no point advising you what else might be causing your problem while ever your running anything like DreamScene on it - you must be prepared to take that off as a first step in the elimination process.

Thanks for taking the time Phillip-
Well, if I uninstall it I might not be able to get it back. I've read that elseware.
I did replace dreamscenes with regular wallpaper. I had the same problem (couldn't type beyond two random letters) except this time the desktop didn't turn black.

I can type cmd and have no problem typing numbers. If I punch in the a letter in the alphabet, those program files will come up for me.

But files I can only type fi. I left click two twice and it freezes up. I have to close the program.
I just tried george and that was ok.

This isn't a huge problem but it's not right and it ticks me off. :)
