WIN7: Unable to use Windows Update or the website...

I am using Windows 7, 64-bit.

When I try to download updates, I get this error code: 80072EFE.

I am also unable to open the Windows Update website.

I just reinstalled Windows--- this is the first thing I've done on here since this installation. I don't expect Spyware or a virus.

Windows Update on Win7 is accessible from the Control Panel. You don't use the Windows Update site like you did in XP.
As to the error code, it usually means one can't check for updates, and this may be caused by missing network drivers or wireless drivers.

You may encounter temporary connection-related errors when you use Windows Update or Microsoft Update to install updates
