Hi, first timer here, I really appreciate any and all help -

For some reason, certain pages won't load on my computer (on Firefox, Chrome, or IE). It's only on certain webpages, for example [1] and [2]. Most pages however, work fine, e.g. this one or this one (notice there that nytimes.com works, as does economix.blogs.nytimes.com/xxxxx, but nytimes articles won't load...).

But wait, it gets weirder. Sometimes the page does show up! A page that doesn't load today might work Monday night, but not work again Tuesday morning. Once, one page would load in Chrome but not in Firefox.

Another strange thing is that the pages load for other computers on my LAN.

The weirdest thing, however, is that the title of the page loads (meaning the text in the blue bar at the top of the browser) and the source code is all there. I can go to a page that doesn't load, hit view source, and see the whole html source. However, the page won't load.

When I say won't load, I don't mean I get an error page. Instead, the title loads, like I said, but the page just looks gray and circley load button keeps on spinning, permanently.

I figure it must be some external application, because it's a cross-browser problem. Other pertinent facts:
*I recently switched from Comcast to Verizon FiOS
*I recently downloaded a new version of Java
*Firefox 3.6.3

Thanks!

I have Verizon and I have the same problem! The only things that will load are Google, Facebook, Geekstogo, and yahoo. Other than that nothing will load! Maybe its just a bad day for Verizon users. :)

The thing is though, all the other computers on my LAN network use Verizon as well (because we're all getting it from the same source obviously) and they can load all these pages fine. So I don't think it's Verizon. I think it's probably some third party application on these pages that won't load.

By the way, ironically enough, this page won't load on my computer, but the geekstogo.com homepage will. So I have to access this from a different computer on the network.
