Hi,

Due to a power fall out while installing Windows updates
My Computer now won't get past configuring update 3 of 3 0% complete.
I have tried to reboot with the help of windows vista 32 bit repair disc.
It says rebooting was succesfull but i still end up with configuring update 3 of 3 0% complete.
After that message it starts anew i get the windows emblem and than the same message all over.

Is there any way i can get the use of my computer back without (possibly) loosing my data?
(Most of it is on separate hard drive but still.)

In Short: I need help!
Thanks

Kuifje

P.S.
I am sending this message from my laptop that does work.

Hello kuifje...

Boot to the Windows CD and choose the option to "Repair Your Computer".

When you are presented with the Recovery Options screen, choose the option for System Restore. Restore the machine to a point just before the updates were installed. (Guide)

This should get you back into Windows providing the failed updates are the only problems involved. Then you can try to install the updates again through the Windows Update website.

Hi Wannabe1,

Thanks for your superfast reply.
The suggestion you made is (for as far as i can see) the thing i did and that didn't fix my problem.
I had 4 options to go back to. (system restore)
1 was before the updates (1 day) and that one wouldn't run had an error. (sorry can't remember the error code)
2 were during the update installations. see above
1 was after the last updates that one worked, but when i started up i still had the same problem.

Maybe i need my orriginal windows disc i got when i bought my computer.
(you think that would give other results?

Thanks
