I had my computer on the other night when the was a power surge, my tv and lights and computer went off and back on.

since then my vista computer wont boot up properly!!! :) :)

i can get into the recovery centre and tried a start up recovery but that didn't fix it.

it asks me to select my operating system, but my system isn't shown in the box!!!

when i try and load in safe mode the load freezes on \System32\drivers\disk.sys

i have tried doing a chkdsk from the command prompt and that doesn't work either.

i have this hard drive on a old xp machine at the moment and am doing a scandisk and virus scan.

is there a way i could replace that driver while the drive is on another computer?

any help would be appricated.

thanks
