forgotten vista password

hello, my wife and i just got computer out of storage after a year and now she doesn't remember her password to log into vista. she has tried everything she would've used and has no luck. what can we do to either recover the password or reset it so that she can use it again? thanks for any help. i was told about something called erd commander?

I suggest finding a way to retrieve your data through an outside source, such as a USB flash drive or data recovery tool; you can find answers to those questions by posting a new thread in a separate forum.
