Media Player should allow me to start syncing music when I plug in my mp3, but it doesn't allow it to sync

I think you should have asked you question in the software forum ,but !!
a little more info please .what version of media player ,make and model of mp3 player ,might help in getting an answer ,thank you

try this ,in media player top tool bar ,go to help ,click on windows media player help , bottom of the list ,help setting up a sync ,see if anything there helps ,it may be that mp is not seeing you mp3 player ,make sure you install drivers for the device if there are any !
