HiddenFaxWindow Plague Upon my House

For the last 2 weeks or so, I've been annoyed by the appearance of "End Program HiddenFaxWindow" and ". . . explorer.exe" boxes during much delayed shutdowns.

At first, I thought if I just manually shut down my printer, making sure its icon wasn't in the System Tray, i could prevent the anomalous shutdown. But now it happens everytime. I followed the steps described on Dell's site to no avail.

I've read elsewhere that this bug has no fix as of approx. 9 May 05.
