hi, up till toady ive been using a logitech keyboard on my laptop without a problem, today it stopped working. at first i thought it was a problem with the keyboard but after trying it on another computer it was quickly detected and worked fine. when trying to plug it into my laptop the new software sound will go but the keyboard will not work, nor will an installer balloon pop up.Ive tyred it on every usb port with the same result. the usb ports all work fine with other devices. if i boot my computer with the keyboard plugged in its lights will flash but it will still now work. i tyred to reinstall it by using the device manager but the result is always the same.

today i got a new wireless keyboard which also came with a mouse. after installing the software the mouse worked fine but the keyboard would not respond..

when i try the add new hardware wizard for a hid keyboard it gives me the following response --Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware because a previous instance of the device driver is still in memory. (Code 38)

ok so i tried to reinstall the new keyboard and remove all traces of the old keyboard from the registry...now this is the weirdest thing...the quick links on the keyboard for things like homepage, calculator, etc.. work fine but the keys themselves continue to not work..

It is possible that your keyboard might need to be reset, try the following
steps to do this:

1. Remove the plug in the receiver to USB port
2. Press and hold the connect button for 10secs on the receiver to reset
3. Upon reset reconnect the receiver and the mouse

Or this from a manufacturers help guide:

1.Remove the batteries
2.Type for about 30 seconds to clear the capacitor
3.Insert fresh batteries if you have some (if only to discount the originals)
Once this has been done try reconnecting the keyboard.

BTW has your keyboard got a reset button on the bottom as well!
