I have no idea where to start. I upgraded my AIM program not too long ago, and ever since, I have pop-ups galore and a ton of programs that are running, but shouldn't be now.

I noticed that you often use Hijack this!, and a couple of other programs... (it's driving me insane that a little search window pops up when I open IE, etc) I have installed CleanUP, LSPfix and Hijack this on to my system in preparation of posting this here. I can not seem to get my system into "safe mode"... not sure why... it's not an option and I can not get it into safe mode by re-booting while pressing F8 or ctrl. Any help you can give me will be greatly appreciated...

Hi I'm kool808,

First I need you to read and follow the instructions HERE.

Then we'll need you to use a free diagnostic tool (HiJackThis) and post a log as a new topic in the HijackThis! Forum. It will get a better response there from the people most qualified to analyze logs.

Most of what it lists will be harmless or even essential, DO NOT delete or modify anything yet! Someone will be along to tell you what steps to take after you post the contents of the scan results.
