I recently downloaded a program and ever since ive been hit with a virus which wont let me open anything. When i turn my PC on, a message reading RunDLL: "Error loading dtfap.dll. The specified module could not be found" appears. Then whenever i click a program, another box pops up saying "Application cannot be executed. The file rundll32.exe is infected. Do you want to activate your antivirus software now?.

Id be happy for anyone to take control over my PC but this stops me from using the net. An hour or so ago it seemed like i got rid of it and installed Malwarebytes, updated and ran full system scan followed by spybot etc. I couldnt use the net but i could open programs. Now im back to square one where i cant open anything. Please could someone help, im in desperate need for my PC and cannot really afford to pay to get it fixed. Thanks in advance.

Hello ChrisCFC :)

Before we begin, I would like to make a few things clear so that we can fix your problem as efficiently as possible:
  • Be sure to follow all my instructions carefully! If there is anything you don''t understand, don't hesitate to ask.
  • Please do not do anything or perform other steps unless I have asked you to do so.
  • Please make sure you post all logs I ask you to, and make sure that the entire log gets posted.

Step 1

Please download Rogue Kill from here

Double-click on rkill.com to run it. You may need to run this program a few times to stop the malware process running. The malware will probably complain about being stopped but please ignore this. Do not reboot your computer after running rkill as the malware programs will start again.

Step 2

Please download OTH.scr to your desktop
Please download OTL to your Desktop
Please download the attached Scan.txt to your destop

Double click the OTH file and select Kill All Processes, your desktop will go blank
Posted Image
Then select Start OTL
OTL will now run

  • double-click on the Custom Scans box and a message box will popup asking if you want to load a custom scan from a file
    Select Scan.txt that you downloaded
  • Click the Quick Scan button. Do not change any settings unless otherwise told to do so. The scan wont take long.
  • When the scan completes, it will open two notepad windows. OTL.Txt and Extras.Txt. These are saved in the same location as OTL.

"Please download the attached Scan.txt to your destop"

Where is the attached file?

I downloaded the files and transferred them over to the PC but i cant seem to open OTH since it says "Use a web service to find the correct program" or " select a program from a list of installed programs".

Thanks in advance :)

Futhermore, i did the Rkill first and the virus seemed to have gone but when i turn my internet back on then the message about the PC restarting in a minute, save any work etc appears..

Maybe this could help to solving the problem?
