Hi--
I'm not sure where to begin. I got a new laptop -HP Pavillion dv4-

one problem is, there is a linnux based 'HP Quickweb' that comes up first- you can read email get on the internet, and some other stuff I haven't figured out yet. It works OK, but some stuff on facebook apps doesn't fully load, ie the side scroll bar doesn't show up, so you can't navigate in a second popup screen. On the bottom left is a small square that says go to windows. When you go to windows, if you use explorer (which I rarely do) it always pops up 'can't find the page you're looking for"' with the retry button. Rarely if you hit that about 5 times, it might navigate to a web page, but if you browse to another, the same thing happens. It also says check your connection, and when you do all the 'diagnose' for problems, it ALWAYS says they can't find a solution.

I had a local tech come over (I live in Ecuador) and he got mozilla to install. That does the same thing, but loads after 1 or 2 tries, which is better, and mozilla actually let me install my yahoo as my home page! but how nice would it be if I want to browse the internet, and it just goes from page to page like it's supposed to.

One more issue is: he downloaded Mozilla thunderbird, and it will send out emails, but not receive- so he configured outlook. Seriously the first email that came in was some lewd thing talking about penises! I haven't gotten one of those for years, since I've been using thunderbird. I have a feeling that the evil windows is blocking the outgoing emails ... isn't there a way to over ride that?

OK_ maybe too much for one post. Thanks so much.
