I have a Gigabyte X58A-UD3R with a built in network adapter which is realtek PCIe GBE. I went to the device manager and it says that it is running, however it says no connections are avaliable. But under the network map it says the adapter is not connected.

Are either of the LEDs lit up on the ethernet port?

If not, have you tried a different ethernet cable?
