Hi
I was wondering if anyone can help with my problem.
When I switch on my PC (Vista Home Premium) Windows starts up just fine but when I log into my profile, or any of the other profiles, I get a black screen. No desktop icons or task bar. The window for 'My Documents' is open and I can only access files/the internet etc through this window. I seem to be able to access all documents and folders but my desktop walpaper, icons, start, task bar, etc have dissapeared from the desktop. This happened once before and it was repairable but I can't for the life of me remember what I had to do to fix it.
Any ideas out there????? Pleeeeeeese!

Hi wise_noob, thanx for getting back to me

Yeah tried that but no joy. I f'got to say the only way of restoring my desk top at the moment is by typing 'explorer.exe' in the browser bar at the top of the open 'my documents' folder. But when I do that I can't open explorer through the desk top. I was unable to access my e-mails too but managed to get in after I loged on again through the 'my documants' window. I don't get any error msgs though. :) :)

Just noticed - according to my profile on here I joined this site on the 23rd Feb 2009 - but I only joined earlier today! I did notice the time was a bit odd earlier but the date was correct. Is this something to do with the odd way my pc is acting just now???? :)

also pls post a screenshot or lists of your running processes. :)
