The other day I was working online and all of a sudden my computer lost it's wireless connection. Since then it will not pick up any wireless at all. I have to plug in everytime. I called DELL support and they said that I had to buy a warranty. The kicker is that I have a parts warranty but not a system warranty. The computer is not even a year old. I bought it about 6 months ago. Took it to Best Buy and they did a scan and found nothing. They guy said it probably has to do with my windows 7 system. Is there any way to download an update to fix this problem? Or some other way to get connected without spending hundreds of dollars on a new computer?

SFDFF:

Are you able to connect to the internet if you plug your laptop in directly to your internet modem via ethernet? Also, are you able to connect to any wireless networks at all?

If you can connect wired, but not to any wireless networks, I'd recommend checking your wireless "hardware button". For most new laptops, this is actually a "soft" button that is triggered using the Fn key plus one of the F1 - F12 keys. For example, on my Dell Studio 15 Laptop, I push Fn + F2 to enable/disable my wireless internet. If you get me your exact Dell Model number, I can tell you what the exact key combo is to do this.

I am able to connect with the plug in no problem. It will not pick up any wireless. This all happened a few days ago when I was online with a wire connection. It just dropped me and would not reconnect. Took it to Best Buy and they said it might be the windows 7 system, and that for some reason it is not picking up the wireless connection.
