Recently, I had a nasty version of the redirect virus. It's been cleaned up (or so I thought) but now I can't hear anything on the internet. Itunes is fine, as are regular start up sounds, etc. However, anything on a webpage that has audio (you tube, imeem, etc.) I can't hear. I can see the video, but I can't hear it or anything from a webpage.

I've already tried:

- Updating/reinstalling the drivers
- Checking the volume mixer

and some various other things, but I'm afraid I may be doing it wrong, so I'd like some simple instructions. I'm afraid that some of the other fixes I've seen are for Windows XP/Mac users and I don't know where to find some of the controls. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

I suggest you make a topic in the Virus, Spyware, Malware Removal forum (be sure to read this topic before posting!). It seems like you're not sure if the virus has been removed completely.

It would be helpful if we knew what browser you're using. Be sure to mention that along with your problem in the malware topic you create :D

Good luck!

Hi chubbyhuggs,

Sounds like Edd is onto something. Your computer may still be infected. You might consider re-installing your copy of Windows 7, or reinstalling your browser.

Have you done another virus check on your computer?

Cheers,
Kim
