netgear 300N and an xbox and a G wireless adapter

I'm having a bit of trouble getting my xbox to see the IP addy.

My question-

Will a wireless G adapter work with a N router? Do I need to buy a new adapter?

OK I got it working...

I found that for some reason my xbox doesn't support WPA2 security. Only WEP. This is causing some problems with my wife's computer as her security settings for some reason won't allow me to choose between 64B and 128B WEP. Which is I think causing her's to not connect to the network....
