Chkdsk running on restart sometimes

hello, i seem to have developed a new problem within the last couple weeks, i have never had this happen before, have been running win7 now for a few months

i leave my laptop running pretty much 24/7. ill reboot it every-once in awhile because things just don't seem to be running right and some times, not every time, CHKDSK will start running. it will detect errors fix them and delete files. i have seen the following characters each time if i remember right : $j and $310 or maybe it was a different number as files its deleting or something i am not sure. i thought maybe i had a virus or something but every time i update and run avg 2011 it doesn't find a single thing.

You may want to test the hard drive just to make sure there isn't some kind of problem developing. Hard drive diagnostic utilities are used primarily for determining the physical condition of your hard drive, (drive integrity and read/write verification):

The point is to test the hd outside of the windows enviroment to see if it is a hardware issue.
Download the cd iso version using the instructions below.
Run hard drive diagnostics: http://www.tacktech....ay.cfm?ttid=287
Make sure, you select tool, which is appropriate for the brand of your hard drive.
Depending on the program, it'll create bootable floppy, or bootable CD.
If downloaded file is of .iso type, use ImgBurn: http://www.imgburn.com/ to burn .iso file to a CD (select "Write image file to disc" option), and make the CD bootable.

NOTE. If your hard drive is made by Toshiba, try the Hitachi DFT CD Image version of the software
