In game action skipping on WOW

Hello. I have recently again began playing world of warcraft. For the 1st time ever when i am in game my characer while walking or running sporatically freezes or skips. not to the point where i have to log off but it's very annoying. It's like the movemnt of my character is not smooth. I am not sure how to explain better. Please let me know if you know what i mean and what the reasoning behind this may be. Thanks,..truder
