OK I need some more info. That red dot showing in the beginning, apparently that's us right? So what is that red dot? Hive, Uplink, Voyager?

It's a Hive. An Uplink would be smaller, a 2x2 pixel rather than 3x3.

Hhhmm OK. Ask the advisers if we should build it near the forested area our scouting expedition found. I.e. Cons and pros of doing this.

Your advisers say that the Pros would be:
-easy access to wood
-grassland on which to plant crops/more trees

Cons:
-otherwise only desert
-proximity to Blue nation, who have unknown intentions
-We don't know what is beyond, in the Unknown

What will you do?

The new city is built, but your people complain that there is no way of transport between the two.

Some merchants arrive in the new city from an unknown area in the grasslands and warn you of a huge creature called "Elephantus."

Ask the advisers about creating some form of transport link between the two. Actually get them to liaise with the people about it. If the people are complaining then they will most likely have the best ideas about how to fix it. Then the advisers can consider the options, weigh up costs, cons, pros, and make recommendations.

Also what do they know about this Elephantus creature. Is it aggressive by nature? Or only if provoked? Can it be tamed and made to work for us? Etc...

New city looks fantastic. We need to start considering using some of the forest for resources. Perhaps also ask these advisers about the best option to sustainably use these resources, i.e. take wood but plant more seeds to grow again kind of thing.

I like these advisers. :D

Edit: P.S. perhaps we can send off a scout into the area where the new merchants came from to check out the Elephantus. Also this will increase our knowledge of the map.

The advisers say that the best form of transport between the cities would be a dirt path, but later on we might pave it with cobblestones for easier visibility.

The merchants say that the Elephantus is a creature, ten feet high, and ten feet long, and 5 feet thick, with huge tusks and a trunk long enough to reach out and coil around you. They are agressive only when provoked, however.

The advisers suggest that you take a little, and give a little with the forest. Take what you need, but always replant or our resources will be depleted in no time.

A dirt path sounds fantastic, let's build one of those please. :D

Also send out two scouts to check out the location of the elephantus and learn a little about the habits this creature has. As they are aggressive only when provoked, as long as the scouts are instructed to stay well clear they should be OK. The scouts will then need to report back with information found so that we can respect these creatures and give them appropriate free space from our civilisation.

And as far as I know, we don't need any wood right now. But I guess it's good to know it is there.

You build a path between your two cities, and you now have a steady stream of people moving into and out of your cities.

Your scouts discover that the Elephantus creatures move in herds of five to six, and require a grazing area of about a square mile. There are currently only a few herds, so you have enough space to do whatever you wish and leave room for the Elephantus.

While scouting the Elephantus, your scouts spot a strange glow in the distance...

Over to the right it looks like a body of water. Can we please send a scout to circumnavigate it so we can determine if it is a reliable and secure water supply.

*The game reboots, and all your save files are still intact!*

Your scouts report that the Blue nation have built a Minager, and a road connecting it.

The ocean seems to be of decent size, and there is grassland on the far side. There don't seem to be any connectiing rivers, however.
