Hi all
My CD and DVD hardware is showing up in Device Manager as having errors and gives error code 19.
Basiclly, they do not work. Power is on, lights are on, they open and close to take disk but do not read the disk, therefore I can not put in any disk to help.
I connected a different hard drive and they both worked !!!!!
Please help because I can not load any programmes at all.
Many thanks
Roy

Welcome to GeeksToGo!

Well at least you've proved it's being caused by something on the hard drive, and I suspect it's a couple of entries in the Registry
because that's a classic cause of this problem. If I'm right, this should fix it: http://www.dougknox...._cd_dvd_fix.htm
