i have recently been having other problems with my computer. it has froze on me a couple of times since the last time i posted, and when it boots up it goes to a black screen briefly after the boot menu pops up, and then it goes to the windows login. also earlier the windoes login failed to load but i turned the computer off and on and it loaded the second time. so could this be some other hardware issue or is windows 7 just crapping out?

I can at this time, only repeat that I suggest you follow my advice in my post 15.
It could well be a driver issue.
Of course as you say it could be a hardware issue.
Unless the reinstall of Windows 7 produced error messages and you continued I do NOT think it is a Windows issue in itself.
