windows vista freezes after loading desktop

Try the Windows Recovery Disc method.

i dont have the vista cd to try the repair option. this laptop originally came with 64 bit vista but my hard drive crashed and had to re-install using my friends' 32 bit version. I have a recovery D: drive but i cannot open anything because it says I am using a different version of vista (32 vs 64).
