Well,

A few months ago a very good friend of mine bought me a MyTouch 3G for all the work I did on her house. It uses the Android Platform and I really really liked it, but I wouldn't say I was "blown away". Shortly after, an update came through to upgrade to the latest version of Android and so since I had read my phone could handle it, I went ahead with the update. WOW... Slow as moses... and during this time my phone starting having issues of calls fading in and out, dropping, so on and so forth... I was going insane!

Then, two weeks ago I started dating a new girl and she has an iPhone 3GS. I had never touched an iPhone before and since "I'm a PC" I never really cared to. Well, she forced me to play with her phone and boy was I impressed. Fast beyond belief and the 3G internet surfing made my MyTouch 3G internet surfing seem like 2G if you know what I mean. :D

Yesterday I bought an iPhone 3GS 8gb that AT&T has a special on right now for only $50 with a 2 year contract. I've only used it for a couple of days and I'm absolutely in love with it. Score one up for Apple... (God I hate saying that!) ;) :D

If you haven't tried the iPhone... don't fall behind the curve like me, go buy one today, trust me. :D

Fanb0y... :D

'Sup Ferrari!

I've been thinking about getting one, but I can't afford the extra $15 a month for the data plan...

Hmm..I guess that means I need to find a girlfriend with an iPhone :D

Although, the one thing I like about the Android is being able to develop for it. I'd never pay Apple to be able to make their phone more popular...

Yeah, the opensource stuff is great with Android. I just love the smooth operation of the iPhone. It's faster and more prompt than any other phone I've had. The two main others being a blackberry and the MyTouch 3G.

It's good to hear from you Cold Titanium and I'm glad to see you are doing well in GeekU! :D

My work-provided iPhone went reasonably well at first. Now it's been a few months and I am so sick of it. Biggest heap of (beep) that ever existed. Doesn't matter if I wipe it and start again (I have done twice, absolute bother to set everything back up again.) It seems to freeze momentarily here and there, phone calls get dropped and cut off or don't connect properly in the first place.

And yes I put the sim into my old phone temporarily and that solved all the problems! But my old phone is, well old. No 3G capability or anything. But at least it worked?

And battery life is really poor, if I don't charge every night it goes flat.

Can't wait to upgrade to Windows Mobile 7 device!

I'm not bragging, but your 3G services are so expensive...
We have unlimited 3G access for just about 12$/month, and the speed is fine...
I wish I had a 3G phone... EDGE is just pathetic.

Also, an iPhone won't last long. It only lasts for about a year then gets obsolete. Sure, it still works, and Apple still supports it, but apps keep getting bigger and more complex. An old iPhone can never keep up.

Windows Phone 7 is too restrictive, I don't feel like using it.

Yeah we cop it here! $$$$$$$$$ Pricey alright!

My personal phone has no data allowance at all. Work phone is I think 1GB/month but last month I used about 80MB. Basically syncing emails on the road, looking up the odd Google Maps address. As I provide onsite support to clients I just join it to all their wireless routers and use that data instead. Haha.

3GS

It was my boss' old phone, he got a new iPhone 4 and gave me his old one. We've both had similar problems.
