You may need to go into the BIOS Setup & set CD-ROM as the first boot device, as it may be set to boot from the hard disk first
which means it's ignoring the recovery disc.
Getting into the BIOS Setup involves tapping a specific key as soon as the BIOS information screen appears when the PC or laptop is switched on.
The actual key to press varies depending on the Gateway model or whether it's a laptop or desktop PC. See this: http://www.ehow.com/...y-computer.html

Hi Julia!, I lost my recovery disk for the same laptop.
