Hi,
Can I ask a few questions about General known Anti Virus Programs.
Without having to try to read thru other related numerous posts/ threads trying to find answers, I wonder if anyone can offer me some further advice.
Would the experts on here suggest that the main AV programs that seem to be the most well known, when one does an internet search..
and say was to find suggestions for the best options to use...
If they seem to offer some of the well known companies.
Do you suggest that they are generally OK to use in most cases,
or would you recommend never to use them.
I am aware if members have problems with viruses to ask for help, I assume in many or most / such cases thats because those type of programs have not
managed to solve their virus problems... and that the experts on here use specific types of AV removal programs or methods that is more
specialised and not offered or generally used to /or by the the public.
BUT for anyone to use the General known programs, Would they tend to be considered as to having some worthwhile use that would be seen as being ok to at least try them...in which case they perhaps would usually be expected or accepted to likely be remove good percentage of most known at the time viruses assuming that the programs are able to keep up with the last main known threats.
Then if on doing a search and you find say a certain link of interest.
Out of curiousity, ..As there could be scam or fake websites.. The general public are unlikely to know any better.
to know if it could be a legitimate website or not... In which such a website may seem to be recommending well known AVcompanies.
Has it ever been known that for such websites to make out that they suggest / recommend such rated known companies...
in that they seem to show the right logos on a description or link etc..
but when someone attempts to chance trying download and use one of the options, that they have ended up using a type scam AV program ?
or they find out that what downloaded has put concerning spyware on their computer or system.
IF that was such a concern... The general public may not know how to go about checking if the website / or whoever the persons who created it
was OK or NOT...
BUT I suspect that Experts in this subject may know how to best check them out....
Does that tend to be the case or NOT ?
Or Would it be suggested that most links shown in main search engine 1st or 2nd pages, general are usually trustable ? and seen as generally ok
to use... (So for eg is it likely these days that the main search engines like google would have been able to or had done such checks, before
allow them to be promoted..) In the Older days that would probably not had been the case or possible... as anyone who was was an expert on
search engine optimisation could get high up on the list on page one..and be a scammer .BUT I am not sure that would still happen today.
this is one eg link / website that I have found .
(Some of the others on page 1 of one of the search engines are listed higher up, BUT when you clk on them
they ridiculously long urls that look suspicous. )

Also
In ref to some online companies or services such as those who offer email services.
If one has used differing Windows programs over the years, and at some stage, certain older programs may become seen as obselete.
ALTHOUGH not that they would not work for general browsing...
But they may find anyone using an older system, is unable to access certain websites if those companies have say made some update..
IF that occurrs... generally SHOULD they inform or give any of their service users a warning that they are soon make changes that will prevent certain users who are using older Windows programs some warning.. or at least put up some message on their website or log in areas.
OR do they tend to just make such changes and NOT inform anyone.
Some emails services seem very hard or almsot impossible to be able to ask... as they dont offer phone numbers or email contact .
or its seem very difficult to find a suitable contact details.. such as a general query email address.
Could someone who is knolwedgable, also please answer me this question !
IS it possible that some services... may say change their email systems from their normal servers to say something that is CLOUD based ?
IF So... Would this possibly be why a user can no longer say log into their email...
Is anyone aware of that at all ?
Thank you
