Hello,

I've had this problem for a few months now:

Everytime I try to open a program, the computer hangs, my primairy screen goes black, my scondary goes black and then everything comes back and works normally. This seemms to occur anytime a program takes control of the screens. This even occurs when I hit Ctrl + Alt + Delete. I have tried scans, entire computer installations, any fix I can find but nothing helps.I've searched other forums but haven't found the same problem. This doesen't occur 24/7, it doesent happen on boot and it takes a while but the times in which it starts are random. It could start happening after a few hours or after 20 minutes. The sound on videos will keep playing during this but sound on Ventrilo, for example, will start repeating.

I've gone to the Event Viewer to see if anything was amiss and it comes up with two common errors, one of then critical:

The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Ide\IdePort6. (error)

A problem has occurred with one or more user-mode drivers and the hosting process has been terminated. This may temporarily interrupt your ability to access the devices. (Critical)

My system specs are as follows:

Ram: 8.00Gb DDR3 1333mhz
Graphics: ATI 5970 HD
CPU: Intel I7 975 3.33ghz
I have 2 Displays: one at 1920x1200 (Primairy) and one at 1680x1050 (Secondary)

Sorry if I did anything wrong, it's my first topic. Any help would be greatly appreciated! :D
