a 6GB folder appeared on desktop...not from me putting it there!

Today i found a strange folder containing backup files... i assume? I did not put it there. The folder is named "+-". I am unable to upload the picture I saved of it. Inside the folder there is a zip folder that is about 6GB. I've run scans, but nothing has come up...don't know what this is or what to do about it. Please help?
