Hi, im posting on my friends behalf since they cannot do anything with their laptop.

Theyre running Windows XP and the problem is that today the laptop was crashing severly when any program was opened whilst the anti-virus was popping up saying that a virus has been found and forced them to reboot to the laptop.

Now at boot there is no option to choose a user, it only shows a blank username and password box in which none of the usernames work, an error shows saying that the domain is not available when any username/password is entered. Ctrl+alt+del does not do anything, safe mode entails the same problem and last known good config has no effect.

We're not sure if this problem is malware related or a windows error, any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you!
