On BIOS the computer wont even recognise a drive where it is meant to be, it is not sharing a cable and the jumper is set to master.
Can i have some help, from the basics if need be.

is totally true. 98 will not be able to see or read from a HD formatted as NTFS. If you do want to run 98 you will have to reformat the drive with FAT32, if there is stuff off the drive that you want, copy anything with a second cp first.The reason win98 won't see it, is because its setup as NTFS instead of FAT32.
