networkservice svchost exe locks PC ...CPU 49% solved?

Periodically (every 10 min or so) my PC slows down and Process Lasso shows svchost.exe(networkservice)at 49% - 50%.
During this time I can not get to the LAN or internet.


Google research indicated that the service was connected to DNS Cache.
My Host file was a leftover from win 98 days and was HUGE!
I reset it to the default values and the problem seems to have gone away.

Problem closed!
