I need to reformat my laptop, i am running windows 7 home edition. I was wondering if there is a way that i can back up all my drivers to my memory card before i did this because i dont have any of the disks that came with the laptop anymore, so i was hoping to save time. can this be done?? i have tried finding only the drivers i need online and downloading them onto my desktop to save to my memory card but i cant find the drivers online, all i can find is some thing that seems like spyware or something, says its a driver download tool, but i have to download that before i can get any drivers, i have found this at about 5 different sites before i decided to just come here for help.

If i cannot take them off of the laptop can anybody give me links to get these drivers:

I’m sure I don’t need all of these to start off with, really I only need links to the ones I need to get online from the laptop and let windows find me the rest of the drivers I need. But if somebody could point me in the right direction of the ones I do need I’d really appreciate it. Thanks a lot in advance for all help.

You should start at your notebook maker's website. They should have all the latest drivers.

I would ask, however, why do you need to reformat? That is typically a last ditch effort to fix a broken computer and should really be avoided if possible. Especially with notebooks because they are so proprietary and therefore need proprietary drivers and settings.

I need to reformat because i have a nasty bug in there, its actually my cousins computer, and she has been ignoring security pop ups and now it has a virus or spyware in it that says the computer is infected and the only way to fix it is to buy this program. When i had the same happen to my desktop a few years ago i tried everything and i still ended up needing to re format so i figured id just do it from the start this time. although i have never done a laptop before so now u have me worried lol

Then I would suggest you let our Malware Removal experts have a crack at it first. See Malware and Spyware Cleaning Guide. A fresh install may not be necessary.

Yea i tried that and got stuck at the first thing it says to do, i tried to run OTL and the laptop wont run anything at all. Everything i try to open it asks which program i wanna open it with. And it wont let me boot in safe mode with F8 OR msconfig. wen i try msconfig it says it cant find it at all. And wen i try F8 it just starts the computer normally. Im pretty much lost from here.

Yea i tried that and got stuck at the first thing it says to do

Then start a thread as instructed there and tell them you can't even run OTL.
